SUMMARY:EGAS 57 — 57th European Conference on Atomic Systems | 21-25 June 2026\, Toruń
DESCRIPTION:The EGAS conference is an annual event with a long tradition\, organized since 1969 by the European Group on Atomic Systems of the European Physical Society (EPS). Recent editions took place in Granada\, Spain 2024\, Strasbourg\, France 2023\, Vilnius\, Lithuania 2022\, Florence\, Italy 2019. The International Scientific Programme Committee is constructed by the EGAS board\, a section of the Atomic\, Molecular\, and Optical Physics Division (AMOPD) of the EPS. EGAS typically attracts 200 participants. \nEGAS57 will take place at the award-winning Cultural and Congress Centre Jordanki\, situated at the very heart of Toruń\, Poland. The city is an economic\, cultural\, scientific\, academic and tourist centre\, whose Old Town was enrolled on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. The venue features state-of-the-art facilities and ample space for presentations\, discussions\, and networking sessions. It includes a concert hall\, a chamber hall\, modular conference rooms\, and a restaurant\, as well as space. Industry exhibitions will be held in spacious areas alongside coffee breaks and poster sessions—ensuring excellent visibility and interaction with conference participants. \nThe conference is organized by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń\, one of Poland’s leading research institutions. Its Institute of Physics is a recognized hub for Atomic\, Molecular\, and Optical Physics\, internationally renowned for its contributions to high-precision spectroscopy and quantum optics. It is home to the National Laboratory of FAMO (Atomic\, Molecular and Optical Physics) and the Quantum Optics Centre\, both of which are at the forefront of experimental research in the field. The university is also renowned for its pioneering research across various disciplines of physics\, including pioneering contributions to optical coherence tomography\, quantum information applications\, and nanophotonics.
