High Energy and Particle Physics Division

The HEPP Division of the EPS awards five prestigious prizes in a ceremony during the International Europhysics Conference on HEPP taking place every two years.

For an outstanding contribution to High Energy Physics in an experimental, theoretical or technological area, will be awarded to one or more persons or to collaborations.

Overview

  • The prize will consist of a medal, a diploma and a monetary award to be individually quoted for each time the prize is announced.
  • The prize will initially be awarded every two years, at the occasion of the International Europhysics Conferences on High Energy Physics which are organized by the EPS.


Eligibility

  • The prize will be awarded to one or more persons or to collaboration(s).
  • Named individuals cannot be awarded posthumously.
  • Only works published in peer-reviewed journals will be considered in awarding the prize.

For an outstanding contribution to Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology in the last fifteen years, in an experimental, theoretical, or technological area.


Overview

  • The prize will consist of an amount in cash, a medal, and a certificate.
  • The prize will be awarded every two years, at the EPS-HEPP Conference organized by the EPS High Energy and Particle Physics Division.

 

Eligibility

  • The prize will be awarded to one or more individuals or one or more collaborations that have made outstanding contributions to the field of particle astrophysics and cosmology in the fifteen years preceding the award. The contributions can be either experimental or theoretical in nature and normally result from fundamental research.
  • The prize will be awarded without restrictions on nationality, race, sex or religion.
  • Personal applications for the award are not permitted.

For outstanding work by one or more early career experimental physicist in the field of Particle Physics and/or Particle Astrophysics.

Overview

  • The Prize will consist of a diploma specifying the contribution of the recipient of the prize, and a cash amount.
  • The prize will be awarded every two years, at the EPS-HEPP Conference organized by the EPS High Energy and Particle Physics Division.

 

Eligibility

  • Early career experimental physicists: maximum of 8 years (excluding career interruptions) of research experience following the PhD.

For outstanding work by an early career researcher in Theoretical Particle Physics and/or Field Theory.

Overview

  • The Prize will consist of the Gribov Medal, a diploma specifying the contribution of the recipient of the prize, and a cash amount.
  • The prize will be awarded every two years, at the EPS-HEPP Conference organized by the EPS High Energy and Particle Physics Division.

 

Eligibility

  • Candidates for the prize should havea maximum of 8 years of research experience (excluding career interruptions) following the PhD.

To recognize outstanding achievement in outreach, including education and the promotion of diversity, in connection with High Energy Physics and/or Particle Astrophysics.

Overview

  • The Prize will consist of a diploma specifying the work of the recipients, as well a cash amount.
  • The Prize will be given every year, alternating between the EPS-HEPP conference and the general EPS conference.

 

Eligibility

  • The prize can be given to a scientist or to a non-scientist.
