              Conference Overview This conference explores how advances in physics are shaping the future of energy systems. Organized by the European Physical Society (EPS), it brings together experts from academia, industry, and public policy to examine the scientific, technological, and societal dimensions of the energy transition. Through keynote lectures and moderated panel discussions, participants will address recent scientific breakthroughs, pathways for technological deployment, and the policy frameworks required to enable a secure, efficient, and sustainable energy system. The programme covers a broad range of topics, including wind and solar energy, energy storage, critical raw materials, nuclear energy, and other emerging technologies relevant to energy production and distribution.

              Welcome to the NMHT 2026 Conference! NMHT IX Nano and Microscale Heat Transfer 20 - 24 April 2026, Berlin, Germany https://premc.org/nmht2026 This meeting gathers researchers working on heat transport on the micro-scale and below,  bridging fundamental physics with nano-devices. It is recognised by the European Physical Society and will feature Eurotherm Seminar no. 120 . Topics include heat transport in 2D materials, metamaterials, and interfaces - nano/microscale thermal metrology - low-temperature systems - near-field thermal radiation - molecular junctions - ultrafast photo-induced heat exchange - quantum effects in heat transport - quantum thermodynamics.               2nd Summer School of the European Solar Physics Division

              The European solar physics division board (ESPD) is organizing a 2nd Summer School in its series to be held on 27 April - 1 May 2026 in Dubrovnik, Croatia covering diverse topics in solar physics. The applications are now open and the submission deadline is January 31st 2026. The school will be in hybrid form. Due to capacity limits of the classrooms and the dormitory the number of students attending in-person is limited to 30-40 students.               Lights of Tuscany 2026 — International Student Event on Photonics & Optics

              Applications are open for Lights of Tuscany 2026 (LoT26), an international student-led event organised by the Italian Association of Physics Students (AISF — International Association of Physics Students Territorial Committee of Italy). LoT26 brings together 40 physics students and PhD candidates from around the world for five days of science, research, and culture in Pisa and Florence, Italy, on the occasion of the International Day of Light (16 May 2026). The programme includes research lab visits (Universities of Pisa and Florence, LENS, CNR-INO, EGO Virgo, INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory), seminars and networking sessions with researchers and PhD candidates from leading local institutions, and cultural activities across Tuscany. Focus areas: photonics and quantum optics. Applications showcased include condensed matter physics, biophysics, and astrophysics.               1st IKU-SPECTRA International Congress on Spectroscopy (IKU-SPECTRA ICS 2026)

              The 1st IKU-SPECTRA International Congress on Spectroscopy (IKU-SPECTRA ICS 2026) will be held at Istanbul Kültür University on May 21-22, 2026. The congress is organized within the framework of the Spectroscopy@IKU ERA-Chair Project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe WIDERA programme, and hosted by IKU-SPECTRA: Molecular Sciences and Spectroscopy Applied Research Center. IKU-SPECTRA ICS 2026 aims to provide an international platform for researchers, academics and industry representatives to present their latest findings and discuss emerging developments across all areas of spectroscopy, from fundamental molecular studies to applied research. The scientific program will feature distinguished invited and plenary speakers from leading international institutions, including renowned experts in molecular spectroscopy, theoretical chemistry, materials science and interdisciplinary applications. Through keynote lectures, invited talks and contributed presentations, the congress will foster scientific exchange and new research collaborations. We look forward to welcoming participants for two days of high-level scientific discussion and networking in Istanbul.

              EGAS 57 — 57th European Conference on Atomic Systems | 21-25 June 2026, Toruń

              The EGAS conference is an annual event with a long tradition, organized since 1969 by the European Group on Atomic Systems of the European Physical Society (EPS). Recent editions took place in Granada, Spain 2024, Strasbourg, France 2023, Vilnius, Lithuania 2022, Florence, Italy 2019. The International Scientific Programme Committee is constructed by the EGAS board, a section of the Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Division (AMOPD) of the EPS. EGAS typically attracts 200 participants. EGAS57 will take place at the award-winning Cultural and Congress Centre Jordanki, situated at the very heart of Toruń, Poland. The city is an economic, cultural, scientific, academic and tourist centre, whose Old Town was enrolled on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. The venue features state-of-the-art facilities and ample space for presentations, discussions, and networking sessions. It includes a concert hall, a chamber hall, modular conference rooms, and a restaurant, as well as space. Industry exhibitions will be held in spacious areas alongside coffee breaks and poster sessions—ensuring excellent visibility and interaction with conference participants. The conference is organized by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, one of Poland’s leading research institutions. Its Institute of Physics is a recognized hub for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, internationally renowned for its contributions to high-precision spectroscopy and quantum optics. It is home to the National Laboratory of FAMO (Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics) and the Quantum Optics Centre, both of which are at the forefront of experimental research in the field. The university is also renowned for its pioneering research across various disciplines of physics, including pioneering contributions to optical coherence tomography, quantum information applications, and nanophotonics. The location and the local expertise create an ideal scientific environment for EGAS and we look forward to welcoming scientists from across Europe and beyond for productive and engaging exchange of scientific breakthroughs and innovative ideas.
