The International Commission on Physics Education (C14) was established by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in 1960 to promote the exchange of information and views among the members of the international scientific community in Physics Education.
Today, IUPAP C14 invites physicists from all corners of the world and at all levels of education to apply for the ICPE Medal Award, which honours outstanding contributions to physics teaching that transcend national boundaries.
We particularly encourage nominations from individuals and communities who are traditionally under‑represented in international awards.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Contributions to physics education extending over a considerable number of years.
- International scope and influence of contributions to physics education.
Submission Requirements:
You should address the criteria in your application (2 pages maximum). You should also include a complete CV supporting your claims, as well as two references from recognized peers (with at least one referee from a different affiliation).
Send your application by 30 June 2026 to: - Manjula Sharma (Chair, C14): manjula.sharma@sydney.edu.au, and
- Cristiano Mattos (Secretary, C14): crmattos@usp.br.
The awardee will be selected by IUPAP Commission C14 and will present at a relevant conference.
