The Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Division
The Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Division (AMOPD) of the European Physical Society (EPS) awards a Young Scientist Prize (YSP) triannually at its main division event, the European Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics (ECAMP).
For an original and outstanding contribution to the field of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics.
Overview
Awarded triennially at its main division event, the European Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics (ECAMP)
The prize consists of a medal, an award of 1,500€, an invited talk at the edition of ECAMP where the prize is awarded, and an invitation to write a “colloquium” article for EPJD.
Eligibility
The nominee is expected to have made original and outstanding contributions to the field of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics.
The leading personal contribution of the nominee to the achievements must be clearly identifiable when the work was performed in collaboration.
Nominees for the prize should have a maximum of 8 years of research experience following the PhD (excluding career interruptions such as maternity leave or mandatory military service).
Nomination Process
A letter (no more than 1,000 words) summarizing the nominee´s achievements and identifying the specific work to be recognized.
A list of all publications.
A brief biographical sketch (no more than 2 pages).
Self-nomination will not be considered.
Key Dates
Applications normally open in April in the year preceding ECAMP.
Nominations for ECAMP 2025 have been closed since November 15, 2024.
