Outreach Initiatives

The EPS encourages initiatives that seek to establish a European community among physics-related people.

In recent years, science shows have come to the forefront as a means of bridging the gap between scientists and the general public.

EuroScienceFun (ESF) encourages the exchange of best practices between science shows by means of conferences and exchange program. In this manner, the knowledge that is present in each science show is made available to the community so that their quality  can be improved.

Furthermore, ESF seeks to promote science shows as a method of science communication. It does this by stimulating projects that showcase science show, by encouraging research into science shows and by establishing a central entry point for science event organizers.

IAPS is an association of physics students and student societies from around the globe, working to promote peaceful collaboration amongst them.

The EPS Secretariat hosts the International Association of Physics Students.

The IYPT is a team-oriented scientific competition among teams of secondary school students. The participants present their solutions to scientific problems they have prepared over several months and then discuss their solutions with other teams. The roles of reporter (presentation), opponent and reviewer are graded by a jury consisting of international experts.

The EPS Secretariat hosts the International Young Physicists Tournament [IYPT].
