4th International Symposium on the History of Particle Physics

CERN Geneva, Switzerland

Following in the mould established by precursors at Fermilab and SLAC, the 4th International Symposium on the History of Particle Physics will bring together leading physicists who have worked in the field with historians, philosophers and other scholars of science who study the discipline. The focus of this symposium will be upon the important discoveries and intellectual currents of the 1980s and 1990s — a period in which Europe and especially CERN became the acknowledged center of gravity in particle physics. Theoretical, experimental and accelerator physics developments will be examined, as well as the marriage of particle physics with cosmology and astrophysics. This symposium will occur at CERN on 10-13 November 2025.

7th international workshop on new Photon-Detectors (PD2025)

Bologna, Italy Bologna,, Italy

Overview The 7th international workshop on new Photon-Detectors (PD2025) is jointly organised by the Bologna division of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN Bologna, Italy) and the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Bologna (DIFA UniBo, Italy). The workshop will focus on recent progress and developments in photosensor technologies, including SiPMs, MCPs, APDs, PMTs, hybrid PMTs, digital photosensors and new materials. It will also explore the broad range of applications for these devices in fields such as particle and astroparticle physics, nuclear physics, nuclear medicine, astronomy, and related instrumentation. The programme will feature plenary sessions with both invited and contributed talks, as well as a dedicated poster session. Scientific Program The PD2025 Workshop will cover a broad range of topics reflecting the latest developments and challenges in photon-detector science. The scientific programme is structured around three main thematic areas Application Areas — showcasing the diverse fields where photon detectors play a key role, from fundamental physics to societal impact. Photosensor Technologies — focusing on the design, development, and characterisation of current and emerging photodetector types. Enabling Technologies and Related Topics — highlighting cross-disciplinary innovations that support performance, integration, and future advances. These represent the core themes of the workshop and outline the scope of discussions and presentations that will shape PD2025.

Nano and Microscale Heat Transfer IX (NMHT)

Berlin, Germany , Germany

Welcome to the NMHT 2026 Conference! This meeting gathers researchers working on heat transport on the micro-scale and below,  bridging fundamental physics with nano-devices. It has been recognised as Eurotherm Seminar no. 120 and will be edition IX of a European series that started in the last century in Poitiers. Previous events happened in Santorini (2016), Levi (2018), Palermo (2022), and Girona (2024). On the micro-scale and below, heat can be transported by phonons, electrons, and photons/polaritons. Small scales or low temperatures come with exciting scientific questions about the relevant material parameters, or the nature of transport. The NMHT conference is known for addressing all of these aspects, joining experiments, theory, and simulation. For the 2026 edition, it will broaden its scope towards non-equilibrium physics and ultrafast transients typical for photo-induced heat transport. Check our line-up of invited speakers and consider presenting your recent research. All contributions will be peer-reviewed by the scientific committee.
