The Balkan Physical Union, the Hellenic Physical Society and the European Physical Society under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki are organizing the first Balkan student Summer School on Astronomy and Astrophysics.
This conference will bring together leading scientists at the forefront of exploring how energy and information shape living systems. Over recent years, their work has illuminated fundamental constraints of life, from molecular machines to cells, neural networks, and developmental processes. Sessions will highlight cutting-edge topics including noise and information processing, information–energy conversion, and entropy production across biological scales. Alongside invited lectures, the program features contributed talks and extensive poster sessions designed to foster lively discussion and collaboration. Special emphasis will be placed on interaction between young researchers and established leaders, ensuring a dynamic and inspiring forum that connects ideas, disciplines, and generations.
The Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics XII (NPA-XII) conference brings together scientists working in nuclear astrophysics, including laboratory experiments, theoretical nuclear physics, astronomy, and astrophysics. NPA-XII is part of a series of conferences taking place every two years, under the auspices of the Nuclear Physics Division of the European Physical Society. NPA-XII takes place from 7 - 11 September 2026 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The conference will be preceded by a scientific school, the NPA-XII school, in the week of 31 August - 4 September.
RPC 2026 will take place from 14 to 18 September 2026 at the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. General information is available on the conference website and on the event page. This edition will be especially meaningful as it will mark the first time the RPC Conference is held in Brazil and in South America. The conference is devoted to resistive plate chambers (RPCs) and related gaseous detector technologies, with topics spanning detector performance in high-energy physics experiments, production and quality assurance, instrumentation techniques, alternative gas mixtures and longevity studies, physics and simulation, and applied research. We believe these themes may be of interest to EPS members working on detector development, instrumentation, experimental physics, and related applications. Abstract submission is open until 24 June 2026, and early registration will remain open until 1 August 2026.
